Abandoned Louisiana gas station parking lot puppy rescued by Pennsylvania resident who drove 28 hours to give dog child the pawfect furever home, dog mom says: ‘Even though she had a terrible first few months of life, she is the happiest baby ever!’

If you thought most rescues remained local you would be right, but as you will come to find in this story some cross state lines to seek out a better life.

It is not often that we come across a story in which a hooman is willing to give up on so much for a pupper that they have just found. Of course most pawrents who rescue their dogs themselves usually give up their time, comfort, energy and space in their homes to make sure that the dog that they have found will never know the feeling of being abandoned again.

But the woman in this story went above and beyond that already significant commitment and canceled her flight, rented a car and drove a grueling 28 hours to ensure that the doggo she had come across would have the best life possible. Forgoing any local shelters and rescues in favor of seeing the process of adoption through to the very end. A valiant and noble effort that has kept the dog close to her ever since thanks to the dog going to her mother who lives down the street from her.

Well that is one of the wilder rescue stories we have come across. Sadly, it is all too run of the mill to hear about a puppy who has been abandoned in a box in some sort of parking lot. But the truly unbelievable part is that this woman would feel so strongly for the puppy that she found that she would waste the money of a flight, spend more money on a car rental and then proceed to drive half way across the country to deliver this doggo to a better life. Truly heroic stuff this is.

Could you imagine how unreal it must have felt to be this doggo? To have your life completely flipped upside down after being found in a box you were dumped in, and within a matter of days finding yourself surrounded by pawrents who love you, canine siblings who adore playing with you and all you could have ever dreamt of in life? It would make our heads spin and we hear about stories similar to this every day. It is unimaginable as to how it must have been received by this puppy.
